Hi Carla

Through the years i've built many a computer. I've basically stopped
doing that, even though it is fun to do. Reasons:
- for a server getting a second hand (for example a HP DL380 G3 or G4)
is low cost, they have more then sufficient speed for my needs, and are
friendly on maintenance. And as most of those use carefully selected
components, the speed is actually pretty high. And they are build to
remain working.
- matching the speed of a well-built A-brand PC is actually difficult...
It is not only the mobo/CPU combo, it is the combination of well-matched
components.

I've found that through the years my requirements increased, and my
patience for yet another hand-damager decreased. As a result i find that
the cost of building one myself - using good components -, or simply
buying one ends up pretty much equal.

Cheers,

Rudy -- waiting for comments ;)
