[Techtalk] Printing quality of web pages from HP 5L

Final update.

I downloaded the lj611en.exe file from HP and unzipped it in Windows. Copiet the .ttf files to my memory stick. Rebooted into linux. Copied the files over to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/darkcourier (new directory for them)

They were picked up, and from an application like Abiword print out very nicely, larger but darker. However, again although they show up in the browser screen, printing out is no different. Don't know why that is, but nothing affects the printing from the browser. There is a browser setting, which in Mozilla and Galeon are the opposite, but it forces the browser to use the specified fonts ('Always use these fonts' in Galeon, 'Allow documents to use other fonts' in Mozilla) but although showing up on the screen, the printing remains unchanged.

Problem unsolved. <moves closer to upgrade of distribution>

I see that Windows people also have a problem printing courier with the old 5L and then they download a truetype font 'dark courier' and use that in their apps. Some newer hp printers can be set to print a darker courier font, but I see no solutions like this for linux users.
