Having moved to Subversion in my new job, after using CVS for several years in 
my previous one, I would never choose to go back to CVS.  And it uses .svn 
folders for storing its data, so should not conflict.

There are also some good GUI tools for Subversion - my preferred one being 
RapidSVN.
