[Techtalk] DB2 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 -- file caching?

Hi, everyone,

I've been asked if a performance improvment in DB2 can
be seen by disabling file caching in Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 3 (Update 3), 64 bit.  We're talking
about a 2.4.21-20 kernel.  I know you can disable file
caching in a 2.6 kernel but what about 2.4?  Would it
improve or hurt performance?
