[Techtalk] Discuss CMS's Such As Zope

Hello, Chix!

I'm looking for a web site content management system
that's open source and easy enough to use. This is a
plea for help from the LinuxChix community --
especially those with some Zope experience. :)

I've been looking into Content Management Systems
(CMS's). Zope seems to be the hands-down leader in the
open source field. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't
go with it? Can anyone recommend alternatives?

Here's some background on my situation:
1. My company's corporate web site is being developed
by a vendor. I'm going to be the webmaster when it's
done. For a CMS, I've got a lot of say in specifying
what I want.

2. We've specified that everything be open source and
Apache-based.

3. The site will be updated by non-techies (such as HR
people updating job postings), so I've specified that
be easy.

4. We've specified that the site separate content from
HTML as much as possible. We've talked about a
template type of system to solve this issue.

5. The site will have dynamic content that gets
updated (let's say) on a weekly basis. We're not
building CNN.com. But then again, we're also not
planning on building a static marketing brochure,
either. (My biggest gripe with the current site is
that page updates require someone with HTML experience
to update content. I am usually sent a paragraph for a
page and make the update myself...this has reduced me
to data entry specialist for about 10-15 hours every
week.)
Well, I think those are the biggest issues. I'm
curious to hear the BAD things about Zope as much as
the good things. In fact, maybe I care about the
drawbacks more.

<steps back, awaits wisdom>

Meg
