Telsa, et al on finding minor/major numbers:

If the device is already extant on your system, you can locate major/minor
numbers by fishing into /dev and doing ls -l. Here's an example:

[d ~]: ls -l /dev/sonypi
crw-rw-r--    1 d        users     10,  63 Aug 13 11:28 /dev/sonypi

Note the number after users. Before the comma is the major number, after
is the minor number.
	Unlike music, the major and minors are played simultaneously.
