Intermedia is looking for a Unix System Administrator.
Required Skills
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
• Ability to identify tasks which should be automated and then write
tools to automate them.
• Solid understanding of LINUX: understand paging and swapping,
inter-process communication, devices and device drivers, can perform
system analysis and tuning.
• Ability to program in at least one, preferably two administrative
languages, (shell, Perl) and port C programs from one platform to
another, write small C programs.
• Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing
environments, understanding the principals of routing, client/server
programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file systems.
• Solid understanding of database replication agreements.
• Solid understanding of backup system configuration and administration.
• Solid understanding of Network monitoring concepts.
• Solid understanding of SNMP
• Solid understanding of NFS and SAN concepts, configuration and deployment.
• Experience with PCI requirements and reporting.
Required Background:
• More than 5 years of previous system administration experience.
Responsibilities:
• Configuration and administration of service delivery network and
corporate system backups.
• Configuration and administration of network monitoring tools.
• Assist in the building and maintaining Network Operations tools.
• Administration of Accessline nodal systems.
• Installation/Configuration/Deployment of service delivery network
LINUX/AIX systems.
• Patching and O/S version control of LINUX/AIX systems.
• PCI compliancy and intrusion testing.
Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they can
legally work in the U.S.
