Ultra Mobility Group (UMG), one of the most exciting product groups at
Intel, is looking for a very specific type of software engineer to join
the UMG Platform Software Engineering organization. In order to provide
our top-shelf customers with the best Linux software and development
assistance for UMG's 2009/2010 platform, we are looking for an
individual who can excel as the software technical point person with the
UMG customer. In this position, you will be responsible for creation and
delivery of detailed technical communication plus coordination of UMG
Linux software engineers who will perform debug tasks once the software
is integrated and testing begins.

Qualifications

You should possess a Master of Science degree with two years experience
or a Bachelor of Science degree with three years experience in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Additional
qualifications include: 

- Strong Linux software background (kernel, drivers, middleware) 
- General Unix/Linux operating system functional knowledge 
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience
presenting technical materials in technical English as well as managing
customer issues 
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint* and Microsoft Word* for
collateral creation 
- An ability to travel 25% of the time, within the US and
internationally as needed 

The following qualifications would be added advantages: 
- Mobile Linux* (Moblin.org) experience or familiarity 
- Knowledge of open source development models, and experience dealing
with Linux* distros and organizations developing open source software
outside of Intel 
- Knowledge of generic software product life cycle and testing
methodology 
- Linux driver/kernel knowledge, open source ecosystem familiarity,
customer-facing communication/presentation skills plus the ability to
work with multiple Intel organizations to create one software strategy
for success
