In this position, you will be joining an energetic Technical Marketing
Engineer (TME) team to deliver silicon and platform products for Ultra
Mobile PC's (UMPC's) and Mobile Internet Devices (MID). Responsibilities
include enabling OEMs and ODMs from PC, phone, and CE segments with
drivers on Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Linux with emphasis moving
significantly to Linux by end of 2008. This is an opportunity to apply
both technical knowledge and marketing savvy in a team oriented
environment. You will be working with key industry partners to drive the
development and delivery of cutting-edge new products into this growing
market while influencing the next generation of UMG platforms. This team
operates in a fluid environment that will enable you to engage in a
diverse set of responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include but
not be limited to: 
- Directly engaging customers to provide pre and post sales technical
support to ensure customer Time to Market (TTM) production ramp 
- Working with customers for software architecture definition and
development/debug cycles 
- Replicating and debugging customer reported issues by identifying code
level issues and proposing changes to customer configuration or to Intel
drivers 
- Working directly with platform and chipset software architects to
develop and finalize the platform software requirements 
- Acting as a liaison between customer's requirements and chipset,
platform and/or software architecture teams to ensure `best-in-class'
product definitions 
- Owning and driving the definition and development of the chipset
software documentation for OEM customers to reference during their
development cycle 
- Working with product marketing engineers to develop customer-ready
collateral and messages

 

Qualifications

You should possess a strong engineering background balanced with
experience in technical marketing. A Bachelor of Science degree in
Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) with three or
more years of directly related experience is preferred. Additional
qualifications include: 
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to apply critical thinking 
- Proven customer management and communication skills 
- Strong understanding of Intel architecture-based platforms or
ARM-based platforms including the Operating System and/or Driver
Software stack 
- Deeper knowledge of software in one of the following areas: Linux
kernel, 2D and/or 3D graphics, security, video encode/decode, displays,
low-level system software, I/O, firmware, software debug 
- Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills 
- Ability to work independently, proactive, multitask effectively and
exhibit strong influencing and leadership skills with a strong customer
orientation 
- Ability and willingness to travel domestic and overseas 
The following qualifications would be added advantages: 
- Experience working with Tier 1 OEMs (and field representatives) and
experience creating 'customer ready' collateral and training 
- Experience working with international customers 
- Experience with drivers at a debug level 
- Experience with Linux kernel or driver porting
