Position Summary:
You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and monitoring, and maintaining a VoIP Platform. You must have the ability to work independently with your lead. You will be required to work with other departments at Speakeasy to ensure our servers and services meet the needs of the company.
Your team responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, secure, install, monitor, maintain and document all of our VoIP related platforms
Scheduling and reporting on your activities.
Assisting with the development of new products.
Assisting with code releases; troubleshooting issues that do or do not relate to code releases; testing and accepting code changes
Documentation of architecture, design, procedures, checklists, and other system related documentation.
Monitoring traffic usage for customers (web and shell servers) and identifying potential problems
Participation and scheduling of on-call shift coverage
This position requires the following skills and experience:
Bachelors degree in EE/CS or related experience
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of VoIP Softswitch architecture
Prior experience with Broadsoft softswitches is preferred
Knowledge of SIP, RTP, MGCP, and MEGACO
Basic understanding of CALEA, and E911 requirements
Understanding of Session Border Controllers, prior experience with Acme Packets preferred
Ability to take ownership of complicated issues
Ability to prioritize based on immediate needs
Detailed Linux, and Solaris OS knowledge
Basic *nix shell and perl scripting knowledge
Understanding of industry standard server maintenance processes
Willingness to work in a team environment to solve and complete tasks
Should be adept at working with UNIX servers operation and be familiar with the interaction between servers and services in the present network.
A strong ability to troubleshoot problems
Good organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to train users in applications and UNIX fundamentals, and the writing of basic documentation
Advanced database knowledge
Solid Documentation Skills
Some travel required
