Director of Computing and Communications
POSITION PURPOSE

Under administrative direction from the Vice President for Finance and
Administration, the Director of Computing and Communications is
responsible for providing vision and leadership in the development,
implementation and support of information technology initiatives in
service to the college's academic and business functions. This
individual provides strategic IT direction, planning and management for
the Computing and Communications teams and ensures that all efforts are
reflective of an institution-wide perspective on academic and
administrative needs and priorities as well as the institution's
educational goals and vision.

This individual is also responsible for developing and managing policies
and strategies regarding the college's use of information technology,
and for helping to guide the college community in understanding,
selecting and embracing new information technologies that will best
serve the academic and business interests of the college in realizing
the unique mission of The Evergreen State College.

sciences college whose main campus is located in Olympia, Washington.

COMPENSATION
Salary range: $7,042 to $7,883 per month. Experience and training may be
considered in salary placement. A full Washington state employee

paid holidays; deferred compensation and optional supplemental

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information
systems, business, engineering or related field where technology was a
core component. A Master's degree of MBA with technology as a core
component preferred.
. A minimum of four years increasingly responsible management experience
including at least three years experience in directing an Information
Technology Department.
. At least four years of technical project management or projects
