Manager of Certification 

The Manager of Certification will be responsible for driving VMware’s certification program.  The candidate will manage all aspects of the certification process ensuring that the program scales while maintaining high levels of both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities 

•   Work with customers, partners, and other stakeholders to provide a 
    robust program and processes for certification 
•   Coordinate efforts with OEM partner qualification test programs as 
    well as other VMware organizations with the goal of coordinating 
    product release schedules between the two companies. 
•   Develop automated software tools to enhance and broaden the coverage 
    of current program
•   Develop effective reporting and tracking mechanisms 
•   Define and implement processes that will increase the efficiency and 
    scalability of the certification process
•   Manage a small team of certification engineers 

Requirements 

•   Education: BSCS or equivalent, MS preferred.
•   10-15 years relevant industry experience with at least 3 years in a 
    management role. 
•   5 years software development experience.  SAN/NAS experience a plus.
•   Understanding and working knowledge of operating systems (Windows, 
    Linux, Unix) at the implementation level.  Prior experience 
    developing operating systems or system level software desirable.
•   Capable of organizing and managing multiple projects, setting 
    priorities and working independently under aggressive timelines and 
    date-driven schedules
•   Ability to work independently with little supervision. 
•   Ability to drive problem-solving strategies for complex problems 
    that involve cross-functional disciplines. 
•   Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and enthusiasm 
    for effective processes and methodologies that will improve the 
    productivity of the organization.
