[Techtalk] Does asterisk need a modem card?

Hi Vonda,

I don't have any asterix experience but I think the answer is 'it
depends'...  If you want to provide a break-out to a phone landline, then
you need a modem.  OTOH, if you want to use your Asterix system as a phone
switch for your premises and all of your phone traffic will go out on
VOIP, you just need VOIP phone equipment connected to the same network and
the asterix machine just needs its network card.
