[Techtalk] Corrupted Mouse Driver

Hi Natalee,
The bug you referred to certainly looks familiar and still could be the
problem. I tried to run:

sudo apt-get install hal

but got the message back that 'hal is already the newest version.'

I am not as experienced with Linux as I would like to be so when this
happened I am at a loss. I am wondering if there is a package I could remove
and reinstall. With my current install I have access to a terminal and am
able to bring up 'update-manager', 'gnome-apt-install' & synaptic. Of
course, I can also run all of the 'sudo apt...' commands but other than that
I am limited.

Any other ideas? I really appreciate the response. My Ubuntu laptop is my
main computer for accessing the web and such.

Thanks,

Mike
