Last time I heard the ASUS EEEPC was shipped with a Xandros Distribution on,
so what did I do?

If you read my entire answer you'd see that I wrote that even if Xandros is
Debian based, I didn't know if all deb packages would work, and I suggested
for a check in some forums to be sure.
