I'd seen enough around the net to suggest that the tg3 driver, at
least, should have been okay, so today I turned off iLO and disabled
both the onboard ethernet ports, and installed a 3Com ethernet card -
solved!

And no more NMI errors, so whatever was causing it was either tied to
the ports or tied to the iLO.

We've also seen some other reports on the net that suggest that the
onboard gigabit ethernet ports, when faulty, might throw up NMI errors
- - but anyway, once they were disabled, the problems vanished!
