Hi all,

Spent an interesting day installing Debian Etch on a Proliant DL380 G3.
The install went fine, except that the on-board ethernet wasn't
detected. After a bit of messing around, I discovered that the
recommendation is to use the tg3 driver for the Broadcom NetXtreme 5703
gigabit ethernet ports - 2 of.

With the tg3 module loaded, the ports are seen, but DHCP isn't getting
out to the DHCP server, although the iLO seems to be picking up a lease
okay; when I turn iLO off, the lease isn't picked up, but I still can't
get onto the network, with either a static IP or DHCP.

Can anyone give me any ideas where to look? I've trawled through
debian.org and hp.com, and looked at various other sites - but I can't
help feeling I'm missing something *obvious*...

Cheers!

PS: The owner had tried to install three different versions of Windows
Server something-or-other on this box, and they'd *all* borked. Heh. 8-)
