Hi folks!

The answer was to put the firmware files, downloadable from the
sourceforge site where the drivers come from,
into /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware; then the wireless was turned on at boot
time. Yay! For anyone else who's looking for this, it's

http://ipw2100.sourceforge.net/index.php

Now, how do I get it so that the user can use kwifimanager? It requires
the root password to connect to a wireless network at the moment, and
since she'll be using it in Starbucks and places like that, it would
really be cooler if she could do it as a user.

Cheers!
