I've used it.  It works fine.  It has some nice features.. the install
is about the same level of painlessness as... say... Ubuntu, which is
a good thing.  Once installed, it was hard to pick it out as different
from any other distro.  On my particular hardware, it worked fine.

I ended up dropping it... not because it lacks anything necessary for
the desktop, but because I missed the admin tools in YAST (openSUSE).
I'm lazy and hate using the commandline.  I can (usually) avoid it
with openSUSE :-)

If your computer is capable of running a VM, you can always do what I
do to try out other distributions.  I install it first in VirtualBox
(an open source alternative to VMWare).  I test drive it for a while
and see if it suits my way of working... to see if I like how package
management is done etc.  The only thing that doesn't really work in
VirtualBox is the GLX stuff.
