i think she wants a selfextracting file. 

do tar -cvzf myarchive.tgz myfilelist

you will get a zipped archive called myarchive.tgz, and if you click 
that in a grapical file manager it will prolly extract - but i 
doubt whether an old distro like rh 9 would do it
