Likewise, livejournal.com also has a submit-by-email feature.
(and I'd recommend "mutt" rather than "mail"...)
One needs to be a Paid or Plus user to do so, though.

Livejournal's email offers a choice of authenticating string, or PGP/GPG
for the post-by-email feature.

There are also livejournal clients which are command-line ones; see
