hi,
i do a lot of development with zope/plone. This involves editing files
of all types over the web using a browser. Zope/plone has an
'external editor' feature whereby you can click on a pencil icon and
load the file into an editor (depending on the file type) on your
local machine. On saving in the editor, the file gets updated on the
server.
*but*
I am on mandrake10 which makes a copy of any remote file that is
opened in the ~/tmp directory and saves it only there. I how do i get
around this. (I can, of course, upload the saved file into
zope/plone, but this is an extra step and a pain to do when making
incremental changes and testing each change - which is not the way to
write software, but unfortunately is the only way i am capable of
doing it)
