[Techtalk] apt-get hell?

The way this was explained to me by my local debian guru, this error
means that (a) the upgraded versions of these packages need new pacakges
installed.  or (b) the upgraded versions of these packages need versions
of software that are entirely unavailable in te debian system (I still
don't know how anyone uses these packages in that case, but
whatever...).

I was also told that the proper way to install/upgrade these packages is
to do a:
	apt-get dist-upgrade
which differs from:
	apt-get upgrade
in that the former will install any available new packages needed by
whatever you're upgrading, and the latter will only upgrade packages you
already have without installing anything new.

If that's not correct, I'm sure some nice person on this list can set
both of us straight  :)
