Physically no.  However, you can [with linux] create a different
filesystem within a file on the host filesystem.  I did this on an old
dual-boot system when I didn't have enough ext2 space to compile mozilla.
I made a 200Mb file on the FAT32 filesystem, put an ext2 filesystem on
that and loopmounted it.

So, yeah, you can...
