[Techtalk] Two quick questions: linking /dev/parport0andnolsmod, modprobe, etc.

Thank you - it would have been best if I'd had your reply to go by.  As
it happens, while this computer was unavailable and the other was still
hosed, I thought "Why not upgrade to RH 9?"  Not such a good idea - the
machine's too small and too slow.  It 0did run long enough for me to get
my config files and aliases off though, so reinstalling 8.0 shouldn't be
that bad.
