[Techtalk] thesaurus

I have found the application "dict" to be invaluable, if I am
writing anything, I will always have a terminal open ready to look up a
word. 

Is there a similar app find synonyms? I have usually pointed
lynx to thesaurus.com, but would prefer a more direct approach. Dict
does supply some synonyms and antonyms in its
definitions, but it seems as an afterthought,
I would love a command like: thes <myword>

is there such a tool?
