Don't know if it's any help, but I've got a windows machine at home which 
is happily ssh -X ing to the linux server at work. (using cygwin, but 
someone recommended X-win 32 (www.starnet.com) the other day, which sounds 
smaller, simpler and easier than installing cygwin for this.).
