The earlier process used to involve a bit of private email between the
applicant and the registrar.
Today it is far easier to borrow a functional DNS server for a few days.
Quite a few registrars also provide minimalistic DNS services which you
can leverage off.
In the registrar DNS, create A records for your two nameservers and then
change your NS records to those.
