[Techtalk] interfacing ppp0 with eth0 ?

the problem was infact gateway line below.

after MASQUERADING with iptables and setting up acouple firewall rules, i
am able to connect to the outside world from a lan computer (i had
previously been ssh-ing into the gateway comp from a lan computer, in
order to access the outside world)

of note:
i didn't have to assign an ip to eth0 (the interface that is using pppoe
to connect to the outside world) in /etc/network/interfaces
