[Techtalk] Boot errors in Fedora 1

At last I have got round to replacing my RedHat 8.0 with Fedora Core
1. I have put Fedora on a different partition, so I can still access
the old RedHat files. My /home directory is on a third partition used
by both versions.
Mostly it's going well, but I have three problems.
The first is that, at boot time, after "Finding module dependencies" I
see:
insmod: insmod: a module named scsi_mod already exists
insmod: insmod: insmod: /lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2149.nptl/kernel/drivers/scsi/scsi_mod.o failed
insmod: insmod: insmod: usb-storage failed
These three lines are then repeated.
The second problem, also at boot time, and (I suspect) related to the
first, is that after "Checking for new hardware" I get:
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module block-major-67
This is printed 16 times, then I get 16 similar messages each for
block-major-68, 69, 70, 71, and 128 to 135 inclusive.
The third problem, again perhaps related to the above, is that my HP
PSC-2210 USB printer/scanner doesn't do anything, although the system
seems to think it has set it up. When I try to print a test page the
job disappears from Cups as if it has been printed, but the printer
does nothing. (I have set up my old parallel port HP Laserjet 4, and
that works fine.)
Can anybody help with any of the above?
David
