Ooh, games! One of my favorite topics . . .

My hubby and I have been playing Neverwinter Nights together on our LAN --
that's a lot of fun, especially since there's lots of great fan-made modules.
I also have been playing Slime Forest Adventures (http://www.lrnj.com) to
help me learn Japanese (it's an NES-style RPG quiz game).

Whenever the Nethack tournament (http://nethack.devnull.net) comes around
(November of every year), I like to play that (there's also nice GUIs, such
as Falcon's Eye and QTNethack if you're not a fan of ASCII graphics).

Frozenbubble is good for a few minutes of puzzling (it includes a level editor
now, which is nice), and PowerManga (has nothing to do with Japanese comics)
is a fun arcade-style spaceship game.

Sometimes I get into Freeciv mood and play that for a while, though I tend to
lose . . .

Armegatron is a fun Tron game with 3D graphics that I like, especially if you
play it multiplayer.

FlightGear is a flight simulator (not really a game yet), but it's fun to play
around with.

Then, there's always Solitaire and Mahjongg...

I think one great way to find games is to look in your distributions RPM/APT
repository under "Games". (aptitude for Debian, rpmdrake for Mandrake) Just
install a bunch and try them. :-)
