[Techtalk] How Temporarily Change Resolutions

I like using the resolution for my desktop of 800x600 as it makes things 
so much easier for me to read. I want to run xcdroast to burn some 
backup files I did of a couple of my partitions using partimage. 
Xcdroast says it needs a resolution of at least 1024x768 in order to 
run. I know I have seen somewhere how to toggle the different 
resolutions but I can't remember where. I tried a google search but must 
be using the wrong terms to seach. Could someone please refresh my 
memory? I use KDE for my desktop. I know how to change the resolution if 
I want to make it a permanent switch.
