After reading http://members.lycos.nl/jupp/linux/mailproxy.html, I'm
wondering if you need an MTA at all. At first glance, it seems it will do
what you're trying to do. FWIW, I use netcat for testing TCP/IP
applications and it has worked out quite well. You may already have it in
your Linux distro.
