It seems to be a bit more of a general issue; the laptop doesn't know how
the PCMCIA card will deal with suspend, so it doesn't want to go there
with a card present.  Eject the card and it'll be happy, then reinsert
when you come back to fullpower.

In my case, ThinkPad A21e, RH7.3, 2.4.21 Torvalds+patches kernel (ie. not
via RH), and either a Sandisk PCMCIA-CF adaptor or a DWL-650 wireless
card.  I tend to hibernate (Fn-F12) rather than suspend, too.
