[Techtalk] Open-source illustrator equivalent

Can anyone suggest a good Linux equivalent to Adobe Illustrator?

So far the things I've tried that come with SuSE 8.2 are either very buggy or 
have limited features (or both).

Yes, I know I could use the GIMP, but I'd rather use a vector-based program.
