I know I'm a little behind on this, but I have one of the Samsung 17" LCDs
and it works great with linux. I was even able to find ModeLines
corresponding to the right monitor on Samsung's site to plug in to my
XF86Config. I have played quite a few games with it, not a problem.

I can't remember which model mine is. I think it's the 770 TFT and my
husband has a 760V TFT. Both work great. I'd like to get a 191T. :o) I
doubt you will run in to any problems. Just make sure you set your default
resolution at the native resolution, or it won't look its best.
