I think I found the problem, and it's with the above configuration
change. The advice given in the bugzilla bug report seems not to
have been complete. As I discovered from
http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/fetchmail.html#AEN2810, in order to
turn on procmail's explicit delivery mode, it's necessary to use the
-d command line option, like so in the ~/.fetchmailrc:
mda "/usr/bin/procmail -d %T"
Without that -d command line option to turn on explicit delivery
mode, procmail added mail to various mailboxes in an incomplete way
-- the mail delivered in this fashion lacked the initial From line
that tells MUAs how to differentiate between messages. So that
created quite a mess. I believe the addition of the -d %T has fixed
the problem, although I now have to go in to each mailbox and try to
fix things by adding From lines. (Please correct me if there's an
easier way, though!)
