No, no, and you can't make me, nyeah, nyeah... ;)

No one likes spam. But finding the balance between offending legitimate
mailers and allowing the spammer jerks to abuse your bandwidth is not easy.
Instead of whining about being judged, maybe you could spend you time
discussing the various alternatives, and how successful they've been, or not.
You aren't the only person who admins (or has admined) a server (or several)
on this list.

Only if you will "get past" your condescending attitude.

Never denied it was your call. I, and others, merely pointed out that it was
offensive. Deal with that fact.

Well, I for one don't appreciate being told to "get past" it and "continue
with your lives", either. You complain about double standards, now reap what
you sow.

No one has tried to tell you how to admin your own systems. They have said
that your methods are offensive to them, and have made suggestions on
alternatives that would be less offensive and/or more productive. If you
can't handle that, maybe you need to re-evaluate some things inside yourselves.

This is a misleading comment. When the actions you take on your system
*impact others*, it *becomes* their business, and they right to have opinions
and judgments on how you do it. That's why we despise spammers in the first
place, complain vociferously about open relays, and all of that.

No, this thread is very on topic. It is both a technical and social issue.
User perceptions often are technical issues. The whole "ease of use" debate
is a prime example.

Yes, there is. On my part, it is merely because you want to unilaterally and
arbitrarily declare the thread dead. I'm just plain ornery that way.

Goodbye, and good riddance.
