actually, no. that is one of my favorite parts! (too many times I have had
to boot back in with the old choices because I had forgotten to run lilo.
or when I was new to linux and tried everything but couldn't figure out
why my default wouldn't change)

also, you can edit the boot commands at the initial grub window, if
something is wrong (my problem often is that my boot drive, sda, suddenly
became sdg, because a new scsi card and 6 drives, the reason I turned the
system off, slid in front of the old adapter in order of discovery).

of course, running lilo would've caught some mistakes anyway (like
incorrectly designating your image)
