It's nice to answer questions like this, because i know that a lot of IOS
stuff is very well documented, but not in the obvious way.  Also you'd
already looked yourself and got stuck, and I like helping people who've
helped themselves and got stuck.

In this case, yes, there are a few other things on the cat 29xxXL series
that you can apply access lists to, but you're pretty safe really on the
switching side.  If it breaks it's just a short trip to put something on
the serial console :) The switch itself will carry on switching, but you
ought to keep in mind that this won't neccesarily be the case with all
switches, because the line between "switch" and "router" can get a little
blurry at times.
