I don't know about the twin head stuff, but this above you can't do. 
The nVidia drivers are modules for a kernel and if you have updated your
kernel the stock rpm won't work.  So you'll either have to rebuild the
rpm against your kernel or compile the modules from source (which is
easy--just a make install).  Then you have to hack your XFree config
file in a couple of places, uncommenting the glx and commenting out dri
and GLcore, then changing the nv driver to nvidia.  If you just try to
load the glx with GLcore and dri running the whole thing will choke up.

Backup your config file before you jump in, print out the installation
instructions (some troubleshooting stuff there is very helpful) and make
sure you know how to edit your config file in a console text editor.
