ohhh ahh hmm. Yes it does matter. I'm almost certain sed will choke on control chars and stuff... I've never seen a Quark XPress document, so have no clue what it looks like.

In that case my suggestion just flew south for the winter. I'm not sure what you could do with binary format data short of using some hex editor to copy and paste the required info.
