too true....
i've done this with makefiles that failed too....
a lot of the responsibility must lie in the installer - yeah, i've had
MandrakeUpdate freeze by trying to do a distro update... it doesnt get
as far as debian turning things into corn mush (i have to accept the
responsibility for that myself by installing the whole of mandrake
cooker by using --force...!!!)
im surprised debian did that though... all i've heard of so far is
people singing apt-get's praises...
Mandrake just comes to a screaming halt when the dependencies arent
right... sometimes after hours of verifying packages before download....!!!
yeah. a wise solution really would be more static libs if they're only a
few k....
