It's highly unlikely that any newchix would be able to answer this.
But it's very appropriate for techtalk.

I don't use sendmail, but a bit of google-ing turned up this page:

http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/protected.html

The ruleset on that page prevents local addresses from *receiving* 
external mail, you can probably modify it to prevent local addresses 
from *sending* external mail.

I suspect you'll be able to create a list of 'can send externally'
addresses as well, and specifically allow those.
