[Techtalk] Do ipchains commands work in 2.4?

I'm going to migrate to kernel 2.4 (currently using 2.2).  I'd like to use 
iptables soon, but in the meantime, I was wondering if my current ipchains 
script would work with the new kernel.

I'm also curious as to any other stuff that might be affected by a kernel 
upgrade.  Are any services likely to be broken?

I have minimal experience changing kernels.
