[Techtalk] Linux on a laptop problem

I have a Toshiba laptop as well. The Canadian model is Satellite 1800 VF1. It 
is 1.1 Gz, 256 MB Ram, 15 GB HD, has DVD, built-in ethernet, winmodem (GRR), 
sound and video (Trident Cyber Aladin I think) Also has Infra-red port.  I 
have installed dual boot XP and Mandrake 8.2 with KDE 3 upgrade. Laptop works 
great, even DVD.  Modem does not work (of course, it is winmodem, but I can 
live with that). However, it does not reboot.  This is apparently a known 
issue with Toshiba laptop users that the reboot function does not work, it 
gets to a point and then hangs. From there you have to shut it off and back 
on and then it will start up again.
