Val's message was also the result of me apparently saying things badly.
Apparently at least two people got the idea that I was saying I wanted
to make a female-only techtalk.

What I MEANT to say was:
I want to know IF people want a female-only techtalk, but I personally
think it's a bad idea because... (of reasons I stated in my letter
yesterday-my-time.)

So no, I am NOT making a female-only techtalk by fiat. If I was doing
things by fiat, I'd be inclined to say there would NOT be one.
What I DID decide by fiat is that I want a techtalk meta-FAQ.

I also suggested that interested people might want to discuss MAYBE
separating techtalk into a mixed-gender and female-only pair of lists,
or - preferably - provide me with a better suggestion.

Just trying to set the record straight here, hopeless as such things may
be.

Also:
The coordination list is for the chapter heads and volunteers. Can we
keep the general discussion of the potential female-only list to issues?
