Well, I'd like to report that I've just installed and set up WINE on my
Debian system and it was almost trivial, thanks to the winesetuptk
package, which is a GUI program which asks you all the right questions
and finds out where your windows installation is automatically (well, if
you *have* a windows installation, which you would if you had a dual-boot
machine...)
Of course that doesn't mean that the tax software will actually work
with WINE...
The only windows program I've tried so far that works is the venerable
solitare.
But, still, it is encouraging.
