    This is not strictly true.  It's not a certain thing, but if you 
realize that you should not have blown something away soon after you do 
so, there is a good possibility of recovery.  Searching Google turns up 
two immediately relavent URLs:

    Nothing like as easy as getting something out of the Recycle Bin, 
but desperate times call for desperate measures.

    Also, if you're nervous, there is no reason you couldn't alias the 
rm command to mv the files to your own user defined Recycle Bin....
