Hi. I'm having a routing problem on my shiny new Mandrake 7.1 firewalling
box. I think I can give the pertinent data most quickly this way:

[root at kitchengod kmactane]# hostname
kitchengod.RebelAngels.org
[root at kitchengod kmactane]# ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:60:08:99:16:72
           inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
           RX packets:11124 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
           TX packets:10586 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
           collisions:2 txqueuelen:100
           Interrupt:12 Base address:0xe800

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:A0:CC:25:07:A2
           inet addr:64.81.50.199 Bcast:64.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
           RX packets:10004 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
           TX packets:12276 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
           collisions:124 txqueuelen:100
           Interrupt:5 Base address:0xec00

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
           inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
           UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:3924 Metric:1
           RX packets:1805 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
           TX packets:1805 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
           collisions:0 txqueuelen:0

[root at kitchengod kmactane]# route del 64.0.0.0
SIOCDELRT: No such process
[root at kitchengod kmactane]#

From this machine, I can get to most of the Internet -- but when I try to
connect to anything in 64.0.0.0/8, I get "No route to host". This would be
only a minor inconvenience, except that I have a client whose mail server
is over at 64.152.73.20...

Can anyone tell me why my attempts to fix my routing table are denied?

Thanks in advance.
